Further to my efforts to help a friend get their website to its righful place in the Google returns, I'm pleased to report some progress. We are on the radar (we're being indexed) and for searches on the business name we're on page 1, and for the business name plus location or nature of business, we're number one.However, this leaves what I'd call the competitive searches; i.e. the punter doesn't have a business name in mind. They'll search by nature of business and location. Small Town IT explains why it's not easy and I can report that those pesky aggregate listing sites I mentioned are still getting in the way- and this battle will be on their home turf.
